Every December, West Windsor comes together to celebrate the season with our Annual Holiday Tree Lighting and Drone Show at the Ron Rogers Arboretum. It is one of our town’s most cherished traditions, a time when families, friends, and neighbors gather to share the joy of the holidays under a brilliant night sky.

Last year, our community experienced something truly magical. For the first time, the township replaced fireworks with an eco-friendly drone show, filling the sky with lights and colors that moved in harmony with holiday music. It was a huge success. Residents were amazed by the beauty and creativity of the show, and many said they preferred it to fireworks.

This year, the show will be even bigger and brighter, featuring more drones and new surprises. It is a spectacular way to celebrate the season while protecting the environment and keeping our pets calm. There are no loud explosions or smoke, only light, color, and joy.

Why This Matters

The West Windsor Recreation Commission organizes this event, and it is not funded by taxpayer dollars. The Commission supports its activities through program fees, grants, and community donations. Sponsorships and small contributions from residents help make special events like this possible.

Hosting a drone show costs more than a fireworks display, but it is worth every dollar for the joy it brings to families and for what it represents: sustainability, innovation, and community togetherness.
